We collect health-related data to personalise your AI workout guidance — we do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

We collect the following categories of information when you use MyWorkoutGuru:

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Provide and personalise the MyWorkoutGuru Service
- Generate AI workout guidance tailored to your profile, injuries, and equipment
- Maintain your workout history and progress over time
- Send service-related notifications such as pre-workout reminders (if enabled)
- Improve the Service based on aggregate usage patterns
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not share your personal data with any third party except as described in Section 4.
4. Third Parties We Share Data With
To provide the Service we work with the following third-party providers. Each processes your data only as necessary to deliver their service:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — Your messages and profile context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI responses. Anthropic processes this data according to their API data usage policy. Conversation data sent via API is not used to train Anthropic's models by default.
- Supabase — Your account data, profile, workout logs, and chat history are stored in Supabase's PostgreSQL database hosted in the East US (North Virginia) region. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant.
- Vercel — Our application is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel processes request logs as part of normal hosting operations.
5. Health Data
MyWorkoutGuru collects sensitive health-related information including injury history, health conditions, and body metrics. This data is treated with the highest level of care:
- Health data is stored encrypted at rest in Supabase
- Health data is only used to personalise your AI workout guidance
- Health data is never sold or shared with third parties beyond what is described in Section 4
- You can request deletion of all your health data at any time
MyWorkoutGuru is not a medical service. The health information you provide is used to customise fitness advice only, not for medical diagnosis or treatment.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to certain types of processing

8. Cookies
MyWorkoutGuru uses minimal cookies and browser storage. We use localStorage to store your session data, profile preferences, and theme settings on your device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
MyWorkoutGuru is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16 we will delete it immediately.
10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data including encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, row-level security on our database, and regular security reviews. However no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
